[ARCHIVED] Road Closure (6/18/24): Highland Road between Hogan Road and Rutrough Road for Greenway Construction

ERRG Greenway Highland Road Closure Map

Highland Road will be closed between Hogan Road and Rutrough Road starting June 18, 2024, for construction of the Roanoke River Greenway through the Blue Ridge Parkway underpass. The roadway will reopen by August 14, 2024, before the first day of school for Roanoke County Public Schools.

Portable Changeable Message Boards will be installed and operational starting June 4, 2024, at Rutrough Road at Mayflower Hills Park and at Bennington Street at Riverdale Road, SE, in the City of Roanoke. Additional barricades and signs will be installed when the road closure begins on June 18, 2024. Drivers will need to use Rutrough Road to pass under the Blue Ridge Parkway during the Highland Road closure.
