[ARCHIVED] Fatal Traffic Crash on Bent Mountain Road

April 15, 2012 - Roanoke County Police were called to the 8700 block of Bent Mountain Rd. at approximately 4:45 p.m. as the result of a single vehicle accident. Fifty-nine year-old Benjamin Baker of Roanoke County was traveling south on Bent Mountain Rd. when the crash occurred. The investigation has revealed that as Baker was attempting to make a left turn he lost control of his vehicle and rolled multiple times. Baker died at the scene. No other vehicles were involved in the accident. Baker was driving a homemade red trike, which is similar to a three wheel motorcycle.

Route 221/Bent Mountain Road was closed to traffic for a little more than two hours as a result of the accident.
