Holiday Schedule New Years 2026

Roanoke County administrative offices will be closed on Thursday, January 1, 2026 and Friday, January 2, 2026. Administrative offices will reopen on Monday, January 5, 2026. See details below for schedules of other services and facilities.

Trash Collection for New Years Holiday Week – Dec. 29, 2025 - Jan. 2, 2026

Monday & Tuesday routes collected Monday, December 29.
Wednesday routes collected Tuesday, December 30.
Thursday routes collected Wednesday, December 31.
Please place your containers to the street on the listed day and leave until emptied.

Roanoke County Public Libraries will close at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, December 31 and reopen on Saturday, January 3.

Parks, Recreation and Tourism

Wednesday, December 31, Green Ridge Recreation Center closes early. Hours 5:30 AM – 1:00 PM
Thursday, January 1 - All facilities closed
Friday, January 2 – PRT Admin Office and Brambleton Center closed
Open Friday, January 2

Explore Park Visitor Center – 4:00 PM – Close

Illuminights – 5:00 PM – Close

Green Ridge 5:30 AM – 7:00 PM

CORTRAN services are not be available Thursday, January 1, 2026 and Friday, January 2, 2026.

Roanoke County Clerk of Circuit Court closed Wednesday, December 31 and January 1, 2026. The courts and office will be open Friday, January 2.
