[ARCHIVED] Cybersecurity Escape Room & Shredding Event

(October 14, 2025) Roanoke County is marking Cybersecurity Awareness Month with hands-on events aimed at helping residents of all ages protect their personal information. From an interactive escape room challenge to free document shredding and practical safety workshops, the County is turning online safety into something everyone can learn.

Cyberscare Escape Room – October 17 Test your problem-solving skills in the Cyberscare escape room — an interactive, cybersecurity-themed challenge that puts participants in the role of digital detectives. Teams will race the clock to solve clues and “escape” while learning important online safety tips along the way.

Free Document Shredding Event – October 17 Residents can also safely dispose of old bills, bank statements, and other sensitive papers at a free community shredding event held alongside Cyberscare.
