[ARCHIVED] Roanoke County Offices Closed for Thanksgiving Holiday

Thanksgiving 2023 Spotlight

Roanoke County's administrative offices will be closed Thursday, November 28, and Friday, November 29 for the Thanksgiving holiday. See other facility and services notes below.

Trash Collection - Trash collection will be altered for the week of November 25th because Roanoke County Offices will be closed Thursday and Friday in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. Please place your containers to the street on the listed day and leave until emptied.

Monday & Tuesday routes will be collected on Monday, November 25
Wednesday routes will be collected on Tuesday, November 26
Thursday routes will be collected on Wednesday, November 27

Libraries - All Roanoke County Public Libraries locations will close at 5 pm on Wednesday, November 27, and reopen on Saturday, November 30.

Parks & Recreation Facilities - Facilities will be closed on Thursday, November 28 in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday. See more information below about changes to service and facility schedules:

Wednesday, Nov. 27 - Green Ridge Recreation Center - Early Closure 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM
Thursday, Nov. 28 - All Recreation Facilities Closed
Friday, Nov. 29 - Explore Park Visitor Center - Open 4:00 PM – Close
Green Ridge Recreation Center - Open 5:30 AM - 7:00 PM
Public Service Center - Closed
Brambleton Recreation Center - Closed

CORTAN - No service on Thursday, November 28, and Friday, November 29.

McAfee Knob Trailhead Shuttle - Shuttle service available Friday, Saturday and Sunday. See https://mcafeeshuttle.com/ for details.

Roanoke County Clerk of Circuit Court - Closing at 12 noon on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, and closed all day on Thursday, November 28, and Friday, November 29.
