(ROANOKE COUNTY, VA  - August 30, 2024)  Roanoke County, Botetourt County and the Town of Vinton are collaborating on a Comprehensive Safety Action Plan through the Federal Highway Administration’s Safe Streets and Roads For All (SS4A) program with the goal of preventing deaths and serious injuries for all roadway users, including pedestrians, bicyclists, motorists, commercial vehicle operators, transit riders and micromobility users.

Botetourt County, Roanoke County and the Town of Vinton are hosting a second round of community meetings to receive comments on proposed recommendations to reduce deaths and serious injuries in each locality’s high crash areas. All meetings will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. as open house- style meetings.

•    Tuesday, September 3, 2024: Botetourt County at Cloverdale Elementary School, 833 Cougar Drive, Roanoke, VA 24019

•    Wednesday, September 4, 2024: Botetourt County at Colonial Elementary School, 142 Murray Drive, Troutville, VA 24175

•    Thursday, September 5, 2024: Roanoke County (North) at the Hollins Library, 6624 Peters Creek Road, Roanoke, VA 24019

•    Monday, September 9, 2024: Roanoke County (South) at the South County Library, 6303 Merriman Road, Roanoke, VA 24018

•    Tuesday, September 10, 2024: Town of Vinton at the Vinton War Memorial, 814 Washington Avenue, Vinton, VA 24179

Over 400 surveys were completed to comment on high crash areas through the first round of community meetings held in April and May.
