[ARCHIVED] Safe Streets and Roads For All Community Meetings

Roanoke County, Botetourt County and the Town of Vinton are collaborating on a Comprehensive Safety Action Plan through the Federal Highway Administration’s Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) program with the goal of preventing deaths and serious injuries for all roadway users, including pedestrians, bicyclists, motorists, commercial vehicle operators, transit riders and micromobility users.

The second round of community meetings will focus on proposed projects in each locality to reduce deaths and serious injuries on our roadways. All meetings will be open house-style where attendees can come and go as they please.

Botetourt County: Tuesday, September 3 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Cloverdale Elementary School, 833 Cougar Drive, Roanoke, VA 24019
Botetourt County: Wednesday, September 4 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Colonial Elementary School, 142 Murray Drive, Troutville, VA 24175
Roanoke County (North): Thursday, September 5 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Hollins Library, 6624 Peters Creek Road, Roanoke, VA 24019
Roanoke County (South): Monday, September 9 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. South County Library, 6303 Merriman Road, Roanoke, VA 24018
Town of Vinton: Tuesday, September 10 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Vinton War Memorial, 814 Washington Avenue, Vinton, VA 24179

Surveys will be available to provide feedback on the proposed projects through Monday, September 30. Over 400 surveys were completed through the first round of community meetings in April and May to comment on high crash areas.
