[ARCHIVED] Police Holding Training Exercise Friday, March 8

Police Training Exercise

Faith Christian School will be the site of an Active Threat Training exercise on Friday, March 8, beginning at 1 p.m. Faith Christian School is located at 3585 Buck Mountain Rd, Roanoke, VA 24018.

Motorists are asked to please avoid Buck Mountain Road as there will be a heavy police and fire and rescue presence in the area between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Police training exercise signage will be posted along Buck Mountain Road.

The training is designed to assess the local, regional, and school’s response to an active threat and to test their response and emergency communications procedures. While there is no actual threat, the exercise is intended to be as realistic as possible. Therefore, the public may hear sirens, fire alarms and simulated gun fire during the exercise. It is an early dismissal day so no students will be on campus during the exercise, however, faculty will remain to participate.
