[ARCHIVED] Boater Update 1/23/24: Niagara Dam Boat Barrier Repaired

The Niagara canoe portage on the Roanoke River has reopened after the boat barrier was reinstalled. Updates have been shared on Appalachian Power’s Claytor and Smith Mountain Facebook pages.

The boat barrier is located just upstream of the Niagara Dam on the Roanoke River.
