[ARCHIVED] Traffic Alert Update 10/23: I-81 Southbound Right Lane Closure Removed

The lane closure for emergency bridge repairs on southbound Interstate 81 in Roanoke County near Salem at mile marker 138.4 has been removed. Both southbound lanes on I-81 are currently open.

The right lane had been closed after a tractor-trailer struck and damaged the Goodwin Avenue bridge just before 10 p.m. on Oct. 20. The bridge is located in the work zone for the I-81 widening project.

Repairs started on Oct. 21 and were completed work on Oct. 22.
