[ARCHIVED] Police Warn of Telephone Scams

Police Scam Alert Spotlight

**SCAM ALERT** Be warned that people in our area are receiving SCAM TELEPHONE CALLS from individuals claiming to be from Roanoke County Police telling residents that they have outstanding warrants. These SCAM callers may be asking for payment information or trying to “confirm” personal information as part of their scam. Do not share payment, financial, or personal information over the phone with anyone claiming to be from Roanoke County Police.

As a reminder, Roanoke County Police will not call you to discuss outstanding warrants and will never ask for money or financial information over the phone.
