[ARCHIVED] Ashes in the Garbage Containers

Please do not place either hot or cold ashes from your fireplace or woodstove in your County-issued garbage container. Ashes placed in the containers act as a catalyst for container fires. If the containers are placed near houses or outbuildings, it is possible to catch those structures on fire as well due to the fact that the fire burns very quickly and very hot. Residents whose containers are destroyed or damaged by fire are responsible for purchasing a replacement container.
