[ARCHIVED] Roanoke County Christmas Tree Lighting Tonight

Roanoke County, Virginia (December, 4, 2017) – Roanoke County will kick off the holiday season with a Christmas Tree Lighting and free family event tonight from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at South County Library, located at 6303 Merriman Road. This year’s event entitled “Magical, Musical, Christmas” will offer entertainment, crafts, live music and performances, plus a visit from Santa.

Heavy traffic is expected tonight, so please arrive early and be aware of the following parking instructions:

Primary parking and wheelchair accessible parking will be at the South County Library while spaces remain available.

Overflow parking will be at Penn Forest Elementary School and Darrell Shell Park, located across the roundabout from the Library. Roanoke County police and other staff members will be on hand to direct traffic.

A second overflow lot with shuttle service will be available at Starkey Park South, located at the intersection of Merriman Road and Starkey Road (6461 Merriman Rd). Shuttles will be available to and from that location beginning at 5:30 p.m.
