[ARCHIVED] New Wave of Jury Duty Scam Calls

Today the Roanoke County Police took complaints regarding a phone scam. The victims were advised that they did not report for jury duty and owed a fine. The caller required the victims to remain on the line and required them to go get a "Green Dot - MoneyPak" type card. They then required the victim to give the card information to them. The Roanoke County Police wants to remind citizens that this is a scam and that no law enforcement agency will call citizens to require money to be paid for outstanding warrants or failure to show for jury duty.
