[ARCHIVED] Police Release Name of Driver in Jae Valley Road

The Roanoke County Police Department is releasing the name of the driver involved in Wednesday morning’s tanker accident on Jae Valley Road. The driver’s name is David H. Bennett, 61, of Conway, SC.

Trucks 28 feet or longer are forbidden on Jae Valley Road. Traffic signs stating that are clearly posted for drivers. Bennett was driving a 2001 Freightliner tractor with a tanker trailer attached.

Bennett has been charged with fail to obey a highway sign and fail to maintain control.

Jae Valley Road reopened after midnight early Thursday morning after the tractor trailer was removed from the scene. Police continue to gather information about the accident.
