[ARCHIVED] Traffic Alert: Northbound Interstate 81 in Roanoke County Reduced to One Lane During Morning Commute

SALEM – The right lane of northbound Interstate 81 in Roanoke County between mile markers 138 and 140 is closed this morning.

A contractor with the Virginia Department of Transportation was paving last night on northbound I-81 with the nighttime work expected to be completed this morning. The contractor has encountered a problem with the paving, and the right lane will remain closed until it can be corrected.

No estimated time for reopening the lane has established at this time. Drivers should expect delays or seek alternate routes.
