[ARCHIVED] Ardagh Group to open metal packaging manufacturing plant in Roanoke County

Roanoke County announced today that Ardagh Group is investing $93 million to create a state-of-the-art metal packaging manufacturing facility on Hollins Road.

Ardagh Group is a global leader in packaging solutions that operates 100 facilities in 25 countries worldwide and employees 18,000 people. The company produces 32 billion packaging containers each year for a diverse range of clients, including Coca-Cola, Con Agra Foods, Del Monte, Heinz, and Kraft foods.

The Ardagh Group will produce approximately 4.5 million cans a day at its new facility, formerly occupied by Hanover Direct. This project represents the largest single manufacturing investment in the region to date.
