The Clerk of the Circuit Court is a constitutional officer elected every eight years and serves the citizens of the County of Roanoke. 

The Clerk of the Circuit Court in Virginia performs multiple duties that are divided among several government offices in many states.  The Code of Virginia lists over 800 responsibilities and duties for the Clerk, many of which are legally sophisticated, highly complex, and vary greatly. Mission 

Our mission is to be committed to public service.  We are dedicated to providing efficient, personable service with courtesy, efficiency, and impartiality to all who enter the clerk's office while maintaining court records with a high standard of accuracy in a timely and cost-effective manner.

We will be responsive to the changing needs of our community, the operation of the law, the judicial process functions, and the delivery of public services.
